Our purpose makes us who we are.
Our purpose is our passion.
Our purpose is to close the gap between rural and urban living, by providing nature rich urban environments, and raising the profile about protecting and respecting our countryside.
Why?
Longevity: Biodiversity is on the decline, in 30yrs time when our Net Gain Networks expire, we want the next generation to care and continue our plight.
Wellbeing: We believe nature within urban locations is more important than gyms, coffee shops etc. The connection to nature provides mental and physical wellbeing.
Protect: We can all make choices that support sustainable farming to cut emissions, restore soils and protect local ecosystems. We also need to eat more plants, less and better meat (and dairy), and waste less food.
Respect: Currently only 8% of English land is deemed “open country’, yet some is not accessible without trespassing. Farmers and landowners are reluctant to support a movement to allow the “right to roam” as Scotland has done recently, due to the current lack of respect they have for their homes and livelihoods.
How?
We provide 20% social impact investment for each transaction. This can go straight back to the local authority to dovetail into their social impact plan, or we can provide:
biodiversity educational talks on our sites
school talks on the countryside code
school talks on sustainable farming
Our Net Gain Networks are accessible to all providing a much-needed connection to nature, to:
improve mental and physical wellbeing
educate through signposted walks showing what we are doing and why
educate through activities that focus on sustainable farming and the countryside code
